Today is the big reveal for the second annual Bead Hoarders Blog Hop! I wrote a bit about my choice for beads on an earlier post, so I will just share pics of the completed product.
These beads were my starting point. Some I have held onto since I first started beading (and hoarding!)
The problem with bead hoarders (or any hoarders) is that we do not want to get rid of our beads – the definition of a hoarder – so it’s been a good and bad experience to finally make something wearable instead of hiding them away in a box.
Follow this link to see a list of all the blog hop participants and see what others have come up with out of their hoards.
What a fabulous red, well worth hoarding. The necklace is splendid and I am sure you will get a lot of wear out of it. Enjoy your new creation.
Thank you, KJ! Red is one of my favorite colors.
the bead caps really add glamor to the whole piece! nicely designed.
Thank you, Hannah. It’s amazing what a difference the small things make.
This is such a gorgeous piece ! Congratulations !
Thank you for your comment!
Love the name of your blog…and you designed a fabulous piece. Well done
Thank you – the phrase has meant a lot for me for several years. And thank you for the compliment on the design.
Great piece! Well done!
Thank you!
Beautiful design! Love the red color palate too.
Can’t go wrong with red (for me anyway!) But for some reason, most my pieces end up being in shades of blue and green.
Those beads are really interesting to look at in my opinion. Nicely done.
Thank you. I like the odd shapes and the texture of the rubberized coating.
That’s a perfect necklace for the holiday season. Nicely done!
Thank you! I have a blue sweater I’m thinking could set it off.
What a great statement necklace. Doesn’t it feel nice to break some beautiful beads free from a stash. So you can add a beautiful piece of jewelry to another stash. LOL.
Have you been peeking in my jewelry boxes? 🙂 Thank you.
Really pretty and so festive.
Thank you.
Perfect for this time of year and nice sentimental value too.
Thank you – maybe it will appear at a Christmas event or two with me. 🙂
Perfect for the holidays, beautiful design, the colors are stunning!
Thank you! Have to get in the spirit somehow, and this helped.
I love the multi strands (I’m lousy at them). You did a wonderful job, and it’s festive for the holidays!
Thank you so much for participating, and don’t forget to post your pieces in the special Pinterest board, http://www.pinterest.com/limamike/bead-hoarders-blog-hop/, and join the Facebook group (also welcome to your friends) http://www.BeadSoupCafe.com — hope to see you at other hops!
Thank you, Lori. Sometimes a single strand expands into multi-strands before I know what’s going on.
Hi Marci, Wonderful design. Those red beads are real attention grabbers.
Thank you, Becky. Red is one of my favorite colors.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your work with us.
Thank you. It’s been great blog hopping to see what others designers have made.
I love that red. So vibrant. I agree – it’s so hard to stop hoarding and start using the beads. But you’ve made a start here, and this will be wonderful to wear!
Thanks for understanding my hoarding tendencies – I placed two orders today for more!
What a perfect piece for the Holidays. And after that. This red is very versatile and it is a lovely necklace.
Thank you. I’ve wondered if it could transition throughout the year.
I love the glow in the red beads. Beading with cats is dangerous business, but beading with puppies is impossible
I know what you mean about puppies. Our little puppy Annie has grown into 70 or so pounds of love and nose. I cannot count the beads I have picked up out of the floor I’ve gotten to where I just let her smell any packages I get and it seems to help her some.
Oh I love that! You don;t really notice the ‘non red’ beads until that little angel draws your eye that way… and then you just have to smile all over again 🙂
Thank you. I found the wings in a stash, and added the angel to remind me of my brother.
Beautiful work, Marci. I love what you created. I have some of those exact same beads which I’ve been hoarding and you’ve inspired me to dig them out and make something. They are so much fun with the rubberized coating and are so lightweight as well. Thanks for the inspiration.
What a glorious necklace! It is perfect for the holidays.
Beautiful necklace. I love the color of those beads, they almost seem to glow on their own.
