There are so many incredible blogs on beading and other crafts, I have no idea where to begin. There is no way I can read my favorites every day, but I do love checking them out when I get a chance. Today, I thought I would share a few, some that have been around a while, and some newer ones as well.
This is by no means an exhaustive list, but just a sampling.
Let’s start with the Art Bead Scene. This blog is visually appealing as well as a fun read. Below is a description in their own words:
What is the Art Bead Scene all about?
Art Bead Scene is an interactive blog with the goal of uniting bead artists of all materials and the jewelry designers who use art beads in their work. The blog has published daily since March 2007!
To us, art beads are incredible, tiny works of art made by hand from the finest materials by some of the best artists in this country and around the world. We think art beads are the heart of excellent jewelry design, and we celebrate the artists and products that agree with us.
Some of the regular features include:
*Current events and trends in the bead world
*Interviews with bead artists and jewelry designers who use art beads in their work
*Reviews of new products, books, and stores that carry art beads.
*An exciting monthly design challenge with prizes from our sponsors
*Studio Saturday, offers a peek into our creative spaces and a chance to win a free bead
*Sundays with Cindy, a round-up of the best posts from some of our favorite blogs
As you can see, there is something new every day. Be sure to stop by and meet some new friends.
Another group of talented beaders can be found at Beading Daily. In addition to informative blogs , there is also a very active community forum, photo galleries, and free projects.
Linda Landig has been designing jewelry for nearly 30 years. She posts many of her beautiful designs on her blog, along with some tips and tricks she has picked up over the years. I would LOVE to spend a couple of days picking her brain and learning from her, but I will have to settle with reading her blog.
Erin at Treasures Found is a very talented artist. I recently received 2 of her beautiful designs as part of the Do Over Challenge and was amazed at the craftsmanship involved in her work.
OK, so if you have visited each of these sites while you were reading this, you are probably overwhelmed with all the information and beautiful artwork. And if you are like me, you couldn’t resist clicking on a few of the links on their pages, too. But I want to list just one more (for today anyway!)
A Bead A Day features work by different designers along with blogger Lisa Crone’s original designs.
Have fun getting to know these bloggers, and I will be listing more in weeks to come.
